This Ring model needs a verified hardwired power source and local Wi-Fi. Check its exact transformer range before app setup.
Verify the exact hardware first
Ring distinguishes the 1080p Video Doorbell Wired from newer Wired Doorbell 2K products. The name on your box and the Ring app must match this model before you apply its transformer requirements. Do not use a voltage range from another Ring doorbell as a substitute.
| Item | Ring documentation for this model |
|---|---|
| Transformer | 10–24 V AC, 50/60 Hz, 8–40 VA per the hardwiring guide |
| Network | 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi; Ring states a 2 Mbps up/down connection for optimal performance |
| Video | 1080p HD with night vision and two-way audio |
| Platform | Works with Alexa; Apple Home and native Matter are not established here |
A safe sequence before pairing
- Identify the transformer and existing chime arrangement using Ring’s guide for Video Doorbell Wired.
- Disconnect power at the circuit breaker before any wiring inspection or installation; use a qualified electrician where required.
- Confirm strong 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi at the door location and follow the current Ring app’s device-add instructions.
- After installation, check live view, two-way audio, motion alerts and any chime behavior separately. Recording and subscription features require their own current Ring terms.

If it does not power on or show video
Stop if the power source or wiring is uncertain. A low or incompatible transformer can damage equipment or create a shock risk. Compare the measured installation conditions with Ring’s official hardwiring table and troubleshooting instructions; do not reset the device to compensate for an electrical issue.
