Share without factory-resetting a Matter device

Before you begin

• Device works in first Matter platform
• Authorized owner access
• Second platform meets requirements

Confirm the latest app screens with the manufacturer. Menu labels can change. Do not enter a Matter QR or setup code on this site.

Pairing steps

1. Keep the current device registration.
2. Open the first platform’s device sharing or pairing-window function.
3. Generate a fresh pairing code.
4. Add the device to the second platform during the allowed window.
5. Test both platforms before removing anything.

Confirm it worked

• Both controllers retain access

Test the particular function you need. A device appearing in the app does not prove that advanced features, automations or remote control are available.

If pairing fails

• Removing a fabric is not the same operation as a factory reset. Never upload pairing codes to a public page.
