Add a Matter device to Alexa

Before you begin

• Compatible Echo/eero controller
• TBR for Thread
• Supported Alexa device category

Confirm the latest app screens with the manufacturer. Menu labels can change. Do not enter a Matter QR or setup code on this site.

Pairing steps

1. Check the exact generation in the official inventory.
2. Open the current Alexa Matter onboarding flow.
3. Use a current sharing code when another platform already owns the device.
4. Complete discovery on the same reachable local network.
5. Test app control and voice commands separately.

Confirm it worked

• Device appears in intended Alexa home
• Permitted basic command works

Test the particular function you need. A device appearing in the app does not prove that advanced features, automations or remote control are available.

If pairing fails

• A voice unlock policy is distinct from hardware lock compatibility.
