For a Thread accessory, look for an active border router reachable on the same home IP network and a Matter controller that supports the accessory type. Border-router capacity and software can change with firmware. If the device works only in the maker’s app, confirm whether it is using Thread, Bluetooth or another route before replacing hardware.
